The solution I found was to perform the following steps: The reason this has occurred is that the TPM chip thinks it’s being threatened and therefore has locked itself, preventing the PIN entry (which you’re most likely typing in correctly) from unlocking the drive. There is a limit on the number of attempts allowed. When powering on the Surface tablet the following message appeared:īitLocker: Too many PIN entry attempts. The issue encountered here highlighted itself on our Microsoft Surface Pro 3’s with Windows 8.1 Enterprise installed. BitLocker is a great tool, and should be adopted as the standard disk encryption tool for all Enterprises using Windows 7 and above – however as with all tech there are challenges □
